Important Improvements
Apple Intelligence: Apple's portfolio of generative AI features, such as sophisticated writing tools, improved Siri capabilities, and AI-powered photo editing tools like "Clean Up," are compatible with every iPhone 16 model. These capabilities, which are driven by the improved Neural Engines of the A18-series CPUs, operate locally on the device for privacy.
Camera System: With haptic feedback that mimics a real camera shutter button, each model has a dedicated "Camera Control" button on the side for simpler access and more user-friendly photo/video capturing. In order to enable spatial video recording a capability that was previously limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models the non-Pro devices use a vertical rear camera configuration. A second 48MP camera for the Ultra Wide lens and enhanced low-light capabilities are added to the Pro variants.
Speed and Design: With hardware-accelerated ray tracing, the A18 and A18 Pro CPUs provide notable gains in speed and power efficiency, particularly for AI and gaming. The Pro variants include narrower bezels, a sturdy titanium design, and larger display sizes (6.3-inch and 6.9-inch). Heat dissipation is aided by improved thermal designs throughout the series.
